Launch of Honor Oak Community Centre’s Over 55s Thursday Club

Around 60 people attended the Launch of Honor Oak Community Centre’s Over 55s Thursday Club. 60 Up C.I.C. will be running this project in partnership with the Honor Oak Community Centre Association.

New members  took part in free Tai Chi and yoga exercise classes and found out more about upcoming activities at the Centre. Invaluable advice was given by Lewisham Homes Welfare Benefits staff and Diabetes UK.  Complementary therapies, pampering treatments, gift stalls and food provided by Delicious Most Nutritious all contributed to a lovely day.

Launch Of 60 Up C.I.C.

Up to 200 people attended the launch of 60 Up C.I.C. on Saturday 30th November. The aim of the day was to raise the profile of 60Up, introduce the Enterprise to the local community and to showcase some of the organisations and community groups who provide activities and services for the over 60s in Lewisham. The event was a great success.

Thanks go out to our compere Bridgit Sam Bailey and Cllr Pauline Morrison who took time out of her busy schedule to read us the wonderful poem by Maya Angelou ‘Phenomenal woman’.

Thank you to poet …Leila Ward, the SENIORS choir and the EPSP line dancers from the Ackroyd Community Centre.

Thank you to our lovely therapists who provided treatments at a very reasonable charge.

Thank you to Lewisham Homes Welfare Benefits, Community Involvement Health Service and Honor Oak Community Centre Association.

Thank you to the health information and gifts stall holders and Bon Marche.

Thank you to Delicious most Nutritious for provision of the hot food.

A big thank you to all those who helped on the day. Without these people the day would not have run as smoothly as it did.

Thank you to all those who attended and/or supported the event.

TOGETHER WE MADE THIS HAPPEN.

Welcome to 60 Up, the inclusive community enterprise
