We leave from our pick up point in Catford SE6 at 9.30am and return at approximately 7.00pm

60Up Family Wellbeing Day in partnership with The Challenge 2015

60 Up will be hosting a Family Wellbeing Day in partnership with NCS The Challenge 2015 on Saturday 26th September from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at Lewisham Methodist Church, Albion Way,SE13 6BT. There will be a mixture of health, information and community stalls including representatives from Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, Healthwatch Bromley and Lewisham, Lewisham Pensioners Forum and of course some of the young people from The Challenge 2015.

Fab Friday Fundraising Event

Friday 16th May 2014

11.30am to 1.30pm at The Green Man, 355 Bromley Road, SE6 2RP

Entry £3.00 includes light refreshments

This fundraiser is in aid of the new ‘Fab Friday’ project that kicks off on 23rd May 2014 and will run on Fridays from 11.30am to 1.00pm.

There will be a variety of craft and gift stalls, health and information stalls, therapies (£5 per treatment), a raffle and the opportunity to help shape the activities offered at the Fab Friday sessions.

We are excited to announce the commencement of a new Friendship Club, ‘Fab Fridays’.

The new ‘Fab Friday’ project will be based at the Green Man, 355 Bromley Road, SE6 2RP  every Friday from 11.30am to 1.00pm from Friday 23rd May 2014. The aim of the project is to reduce social isolation and will provide older adults with a space to meet and enjoy a range of desired activities. Activities on offer will include health and information talks, Complementary Therapies, bingo, celebratory events, intergenerational activities and day trips and will of course be run in accordance with our members’ needs and requests.

To kick off our Fab Fridays, we will be holding a Fundraising Event on Friday 16th May 2014 from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Entry to the event is £3.00 and attendees will have the chance to sample massage, facial or reflexology treatment, browse the gift, health and information stalls and get involved in shaping the activities provided at Fab Friday sessions. There will be a raffle and light refreshments will be provided.

Saturday 22nd March 2014

60 Up will be hosting its first annual Health & Wellbeing Fair on Saturday 22nd March 2014 from 12 noon to 4.00pm.

There will be lots to see and do:-

Health Information stalls, local community groups, nutrition advice and free tasters, craft and gifts stalls and a free Zumba Gold work out at 2.30pm.

Snacks, sandwiches etc can be purchased at the Green Man Cafe.

There will also be the chance to sample a mini massage, reflexology treatment, Indian Head massage, facial or manicure. Treatments all cost £5.00

New Class for 2014

60 Up is pleased to announce the first of our new classes for 2014.

Exercise Classes for older adults start on Tuesday 11th February. This gentle exercise class is specifically designed for older adults (aged 55 or over) living with a long term illness such as C.O.P.D, arthritis, Parkinson’s, or other debilitating conditions.

Led by a qualified and experienced tutor, the class will focus on gentle exercise to help with mobility, flexibility, improving your strength and stamina.

The classes are particularly good for those who fear that exercise will be too strenuous, or that physical activity will harm them.

Launch of Honor Oak Community Centre’s Over 55s Thursday Club

Around 60 people attended the Launch of Honor Oak Community Centre’s Over 55s Thursday Club. 60 Up C.I.C. will be running this project in partnership with the Honor Oak Community Centre Association.
 
New members  took part in free Tai Chi and yoga exercise classes and found out more about upcoming activities at the Centre. Invaluable advice was given by Lewisham Homes Welfare Benefits staff and Diabetes UK.  Complementary therapies, pampering treatments, gift stalls and food provided by Delicious Most Nutritious all contributed to a lovely day.

Launch Of 60 Up C.I.C.

Up to 200 people attended the launch of 60 Up C.I.C. on Saturday 30th November. The aim of the day was to raise the profile of 60Up, introduce the Enterprise to the local community and to showcase some of the organisations and community groups who provide activities and services for the over 60s in Lewisham. The event was a great success.

Thanks go out to our compere Bridgit Sam Bailey and Cllr Pauline Morrison who took time out of her busy schedule to read us the wonderful poem by Maya Angelou ‘Phenomenal woman’.

Thank you to poet …Leila Ward, the SENIORS choir and the EPSP line dancers from the Ackroyd Community Centre.

Thank you to our lovely therapists who provided treatments at a very reasonable charge.

Thank you to Lewisham Homes Welfare Benefits, Community Involvement Health Service and Honor Oak Community Centre Association.

Thank you to the health information and gifts stall holders and Bon Marche.

Thank you to Delicious most Nutritious for provision of the hot food.
